Randy Wolff took the minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Opens: Longfei Bai introduced himself. He worked originally with CST and now at Dassault Systemes after CST was bought by Dassault in 2016. He works with IBIS development and IBIS-AMI simulation, supporting IBIS models in their software. ------------- Review of ARs: Michael: Develop a full syntactically complete example demonstrating the [AMI Test Data] proposal. - In progress. -------------------------- Call for patent disclosure: - None. ------------------------- Review of Meeting Minutes: Arpad asked for any comments or corrections to the minutes of the November 28th meeting. Michael moved to approve the minutes. Dian seconded the motion. There were no objections. -------------- New Discussion: Pin Name Fields Extensions: Michael shared the draft BIRD. Current IBIS syntax limits the pin name field to 5 characters. Changing this requires changing several other keywords that depend upon the pin name field. Michael noted that [Clock Pins] uses the pin name field, but it does not give a length requirement. Randy asked why 20 characters was chosen. Michael noted there was discussion about not limiting the number at all, but that could eventually cause problems with the 1024 character line length limit. An informal poll had resulted in the choice of 20 characters. Michael made a motion to submit the BIRD draft to the Open Forum. Arpad seconded the motion. There were no objections. AMI Test Data proposal: Michael shared draft 15. He thanked Bob for providing a tree structure addition. Parameter names are changed from previous revisions. Ambrish asked if the Executable_index corresponds to any existing AMI parameter or keyword. Michael responded that it corresponds to a specific index of model entry under the [Algorithmic Model] keyword. Arpad suggested the addition of "positive" integer to the description. Bob asked Michael to add the [Algorithmic Model] keyword subparameters Executable, Executable_Rx, and Executable_Tx to the tree diagram. Ambrish suggested adding the [Algorithmic Model] keyword section to the examples. Arpad asked what the next steps are for getting this submitted. Bob suggested reviewing it further. He saw that it would add a lot of complexity to the parser. Michael noted it has been about 6 months of development on this BIRD so far. Ambrish asked if Michael was planning to create a working example. Michael said he would do this once the BIRD was stable. Michael said an example would be mostly text files, but he assumed people would want to run the AMI model too, and have all the required files. Ambrish agreed with wanting a working example. Arpad noted there was no rush, since we are not at a deadline for releasing a new IBIS spec. But he felt submitting it to the Open Forum would bring more attention to it. Michael added that he knows this BIRD is gating an improvement to the IBIS parser described in BUG227. Arpad suggested that Michael submit the BIRD to the Open Forum after making minor changes discussed in the meeting. BIRD220: Pre-driver PSIJ Sensitivity Randy noted he had no update in the last week. Ambrish got some feedback from internal review. He asked if both Rising_edge and Falling_edge subparameters was required. Randy said the rules should be added to describe if both are required and if there is a default of zero if one is not given. Randy will let the other BIRD authors know about the required addition for a BIRD220.1 revision. - Ambrish: Motion to adjourn. - Michael: Second. - Arpad: Thank you all for joining. New ARs: - None. ------------- Next meeting: 12 December 2023 12:00pm PT ------------- IBIS Interconnect SPICE Wish List: 1) Simulator directives
